Theo Mosaic
Theo introduced the Mosaic series in 2024 with five models - Ceppo, Orso, Fuga, Sassi and Smalti. The starting point is the mosaic, the old technique of building an image from fragments of material in many colours: the pattern on the acetate and the way the frame is made are meant to recall it. The house describes the series by saying that the Earth itself is the biggest breathing mosaic.
„We carry colour 016, Green Lined + Transparent Chromiumoxide Green. Theo lists Sassi as an extra-heavy model - the acetate is thick and the frame small: 41 mm lens, 139 mm total width.“

A Belgian house from Antwerp. The first theo glasses appeared in 1989, made by two opticians, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, each of whom ran his own shop. The name is an anagram of Hoet: THEO from HOET. The house makes deliberately wilful shapes and works with unusual materials - acetate, titanium, steel and aluminium, often in one frame.
