About the brand
A Belgian house from Antwerp. The first theo glasses appeared in 1989, made by two opticians, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, each of whom ran his own shop. The name is an anagram of Hoet: THEO from HOET. The house makes deliberately wilful shapes and works with unusual materials - acetate, titanium, steel and aluminium, often in one frame.

Two shops, one brand
Somers and Hoet were opticians, each with his own shop in Antwerp. They made the first theo glasses in 1989.
