Theo Potatoes
The Potatoes family is named after the potato, in several languages: Kartoffel is the German word, Aartappel the Dutch, Patatas the Spanish, and Vitelotte a purple French variety. The house designed it for design lovers who want a frame with a little extra character without being loud: a thin acetate front joins light metal temples through Theo's flexible system, which gives the temples resilience and makes the frame comfortable to wear.
„We carry colour 018, transparent with a purple pattern. The frame is wide - 147 mm in total - and has no nose pads.“

A Belgian house from Antwerp. The first theo glasses appeared in 1989, made by two opticians, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet, each of whom ran his own shop. The name is an anagram of Hoet: THEO from HOET. The house makes deliberately wilful shapes and works with unusual materials - acetate, titanium, steel and aluminium, often in one frame.
