A frame that became a signature

Moscot is a fifth-generation, family-owned New York eyewear house with more than a hundred years of optical expertise. The Lemtosh is its best-known frame: a rounder classic that, in the house's words, has been the calling card for generations of creative, free-spirited intellectuals, artists and auteurs.

„We carry Ruby and Sapphire in size 49 and Light Grey in size 52. The Ruby frame in store is fitted with a light yellow-green lens that is not from the house catalogue.“

Moscot

A New York family house. Hyman Moscot arrived through Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made glasses from a wooden pushcart on Orchard Street. He opened the first shop in 1915, at 94 Rivington Street. The family still runs it - the fifth generation. The model names come from Yiddish and from people in the family.
