Patti Smith in London, 1977
The house links the 1391 to Patti Smith's visit to London in 1977, when she played The Rock Garden in Soho. That trip marked a moment when London and New York were simultaneously experiencing artistic liberation. The frame belongs to the 2021 collection drawn from 1980s Soho.

A London house founded in 1969 by two opticians, Graham Cutler and Tony Gross. They opened their first shop in Knightsbridge in 1971. There is no marking on the outside of the frames - a decision from the start. The frames are made in the brand's own factory in Domegge di Cadore, Italy, and part of the range in Japan; in acetate, titanium and buffalo horn.
