Acetate inside a steel rim
On this frame, stainless steel rims hold rings of Acetate Renew acetate. The acetate brings the colour, the steel brings the shape and the lightness, and the MYKITA spiral hinge joins front and temples without a screw. The frame is handmade in Berlin.

Mykita
A Berlin house founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans and Moritz Krüger. The name comes from its first premises - a former day nursery, which Germans call a "Kita" for short. The frames are still hand-assembled in Berlin, in their own workshop, because when they started nobody would manufacture what they had drawn. The house signature is a patented screwless spiral hinge, in stainless steel half a millimetre thick.
