Acetate inside a steel rim

Helmi combines a slender acetate ring with a stainless steel frame in a softened, square silhouette. The patented spiral hinge gives the temples a fluid, almost silent fold, while acetate temple tips and nose pads are individually adjustable for a precise fit. This MYKITA LITE model shows just how light metal and acetate can feel when they come together well.

„Layered, lightweight, and tangibly well-made — Helmi proves hybrid construction can look effortless.“

Mykita

A Berlin house founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans and Moritz Krüger. The name comes from its first premises - a former day nursery, which Germans call a "Kita" for short. The frames are still hand-assembled in Berlin, in their own workshop, because when they started nobody would manufacture what they had drawn. The house signature is a patented screwless spiral hinge, in stainless steel half a millimetre thick.
