Acetate inside a steel rim

In the acetate-ring frames the steel carries the strength and the acetate brings colour and warmth where the frame meets the face. The frame is assembled by hand at the MYKITA HAUS in Berlin.

„We carry both colours: A37 Shiny Copper/Black and A13 Shiny Graphite/Taupe.“

Mykita

A Berlin house founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans and Moritz Krüger. The name comes from its first premises - a former day nursery, which Germans call a "Kita" for short. The frames are still hand-assembled in Berlin, in their own workshop, because when they started nobody would manufacture what they had drawn. The house signature is a patented screwless spiral hinge, in stainless steel half a millimetre thick.
