Uncle Miltzen

The house first introduced the round Miltzen in the 1930s. It is named for Uncle Heshy, whom everyone, inexplicably, called Uncle Miltzen. And it stuck.

„We carry Citron/Tortoise and the black Miltzen with four shades of hand-dyed lens, all in size 49.“

Moscot

A New York family house. Hyman Moscot arrived through Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made glasses from a wooden pushcart on Orchard Street. He opened the first shop in 1915, at 94 Rivington Street. The family still runs it - the fifth generation. The model names come from Yiddish and from people in the family.
