Gold that was not on the streets

When Hyman Moscot arrived at Ellis Island, the ground was not paved in gold as promised. To honour his ambitious thinking, the house launched a special edition of the Lemtosh with gold details.

„We carry three pieces of Black/Gold and one Crystal/Gold, all in size 49.“

Moscot

A New York family house. Hyman Moscot arrived through Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made glasses from a wooden pushcart on Orchard Street. He opened the first shop in 1915, at 94 Rivington Street. The family still runs it - the fifth generation. The model names come from Yiddish and from people in the family.
