A frame that became a signature

Moscot is a fifth-generation, family-owned New York eyewear house with more than a hundred years of optical expertise. The Lemtosh is its best-known frame: a rounder classic that, in the house's words, has been the calling card for generations of creative, free-spirited intellectuals, artists and auteurs. Custom Made Tints are lenses Moscot hand-dips in its New York lab, so each shade may vary slightly from the image.

„We carry ten frame and lens combinations, with two pieces of Blonde with Calibar Green lenses. All are size 52, except Black Crystal in size 49.“

Moscot

A New York family house. Hyman Moscot arrived through Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made glasses from a wooden pushcart on Orchard Street. He opened the first shop in 1915, at 94 Rivington Street. The family still runs it - the fifth generation. The model names come from Yiddish and from people in the family.
