Screws from a 1904 watch
In 1904 Louis Cartier granted the wish of the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont to be able to tell the time while flying. The result was one of the first wristwatches, and its exposed screws became the mark of the Santos de Cartier line. On CT0511O the screws decorate the temples and their tips.

Cartier
A Paris house founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. It has made eyewear only since the 1980s - the first collection appeared in 1983, with the Vendôme and Must models, in gold, platinum and buffalo horn. The Santos carries screws taken from the bezel of the watch of the same name, made in 1904 for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, a friend of Louis Cartier.
