Screws from a watch
In 1904 Louis Cartier granted the wish of the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont to tell the time while flying. The result was one of the first wristwatches, and its visible screws became the sign of the Santos de Cartier line. On the CT0460S those screws sit on the lens, next to the bridge and the hinges.

Cartier
A Paris house founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. It has made eyewear only since the 1980s - the first collection appeared in 1983, with the Vendôme and Must models, in gold, platinum and buffalo horn. The Santos carries screws taken from the bezel of the watch of the same name, made in 1904 for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, a friend of Louis Cartier.
