The panther, emblem of the Maison
The panther first appeared at Cartier in 1914, as a spotted motif on a watch, at Rue de la Paix. From the 1930s Jeanne Toussaint gave it a sculpted, three-dimensional form, and in 1948 she created a panther brooch on an emerald cabochon for the Duchess of Windsor. The Panthère de Cartier line carries the emblem into eyewear.
„We carry the gold colour 003 with a green-to-turquoise lens.“

Cartier
A Paris house founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. It has made eyewear only since the 1980s - the first collection appeared in 1983, with the Vendôme and Must models, in gold, platinum and buffalo horn. The Santos carries screws taken from the bezel of the watch of the same name, made in 1904 for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, a friend of Louis Cartier.
