Wood and the Décor C detail
On CT0439S the temples are made of wood, and the Décor C detail on them is not only an ornament but also part of the hinge. The Cartier logo plaque on the temple tips is the Maison's signature. Décor C de Cartier has two aesthetics: Décor C Classique, with a capital C on the temples, and Décor C Allongé, which turns the Maison's initial into a singular motif.

Cartier
A Paris house founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. It has made eyewear only since the 1980s - the first collection appeared in 1983, with the Vendôme and Must models, in gold, platinum and buffalo horn. The Santos carries screws taken from the bezel of the watch of the same name, made in 1904 for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, a friend of Louis Cartier.
