Anne & Valentin Pictogram
A pictogram is a stripped-down drawing that works as a sign, and the Pictogram frames are made the same way: the line is drawn direct and taut, with as little material as possible. From the front only a fine outline shows; from the side, the depth. The house links the play of volume and depth to architect Tadao Ando and designer Gerrit Rietveld. The temples were drawn for this concept alone, like the lining of a well-cut garment, and how much of them shows depends on the colour.

A French house from Toulouse. It grew out of a couple of opticians' wish to make unusual, graphic glasses for their friends. They have worked with the same factories in the Jura, in eastern France, for over twenty years, and make their titanium frames in Japan.
