About the brand
A Portuguese house from Porto, founded by the designer Pedro Passos da Silva. The shapes are reduced to essentials - rectangle, circle, line - after the Bauhaus and artists such as Sol LeWitt, Malevich and Josef Albers. The frames are made in family-owned factories in the Treviso area of Italy.

The Bauhaus, read literally
The house openly cites the Bauhaus and artists who worked with basic forms - Sol LeWitt, Malevich, Josef Albers. On a frame that means nothing is added for the sake of appearance.
Though the brand is Portuguese, all the frames are made in Italy - in family-owned factories around Treviso, where frames have been made for generations. The design and the shop are in Porto.
Why there is no ornament
With VAVA a model is recognised by its outline, not by a detail. So the collection has no rivets, patterns or visible hinges - whatever remains has to do something, otherwise it comes off.
