About the brand

A Paris house founded in 2009 by Simon Porte Jacquemus, then nineteen. The brand carries the maiden name of his mother Valérie, who died that year. The collections draw on the south of France - light, colour, simple shapes. Since 2024 the eyewear has been made by the British house Linda Farrow, which added optical frames in 2025.

The name is his mother's

Jacquemus left fashion school in Paris, and that same year his mother died. He founded the label in 2009, aged nineteen, and gave it her maiden name.

He does not make the eyewear himself; since 2024 it has been made by Linda Farrow, the London house that has built frames for other names for decades. Hence a construction quality you would not expect from a young label.

Why the shape is always simple

Jacquemus draws one strong shape and adds nothing on top of it. On a frame that means a clean line without ornament - so the difference between two models is in the outline, not in the detailing.
