About the brand
A Swedish house led by the designer and artist whose name it carries. After art school Anna-Karin Karlsson moved to London and learned the trade from the owners of Meyrowitz, one of the oldest optical houses; back in Sweden, she began making frames as pieces of jewellery. Twenty-four karat gold, white and rose gold, titanium, pearls, emeralds and hand-set crystals - the line is feminine, but sharp.

The trade learned at Meyrowitz
Anna-Karin Karlsson studied art in Sweden and optics in London - with the people running Meyrowitz, a house that spent a century making bespoke eyewear for those who could commission it.
That order explains the brand: the frame is drawn as an art object, and only then is it resolved how it will sit on a face. The reverse order would give quieter eyewear, but not this.
The crystal is set by hand
The crystals and stones are not glued into a mould but set one by one, by the same method used in jewellery. That is why two identical frames differ in how they catch light, and why a repair needs a jeweller rather than an optician.
