About the brand
A Parisian fashion house founded in 1945 by Céline and Richard Vipiana, first as a made-to-measure children's shoe business. It has been part of the LVMH group since 1996 and is headquartered on rue Vivienne in Paris. The Triomphe emblem, two interlaced Cs linked to the Arc de Triomphe, dates from 1973. Michael Rider has been creative director since 2025, after Phoebe Philo (2008-2018) and Hedi Slimane (2018-2024). Since 2017 Celine eyewear has been designed, produced and distributed by Thélios, the LVMH eyewear company; before that it was made under licence by Safilo.

Eyewear from Longarone
Since 2017 Celine eyewear has been designed, produced and distributed by Thélios, the LVMH eyewear company. Celine was the first house in the group whose production Thélios took over from Safilo, at the Manifattura Thélios in Longarone, an Italian town known for eyewear making.
The temples of our pieces are marked Made in Italy. The Triomphe emblem is metal and follows the colour of the frame: gold on havana and on the black Triomphe 01, silver on the black Triomphe 08.
Triomphe through Hedi Slimane's lens
For Spring-Summer 2020 Hedi Slimane photographed the Triomphe campaign himself in Paris, with model Fran Summers. The black-and-white images show a Parisian apartment, aviator sunglasses and the Triomphe emblem, which Slimane brought back from the house archive.
