The screw that came from a watch
The Santos watch was made in 1904 for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, a friend of Louis Cartier. It had a square bezel with visible screws.
The same screws appear on Santos frames today.
The year was printed on the bridge
On the first Cartier frames from 1983 the year the model was introduced was engraved on the bridge. On the Vendôme it was 1983.
