A frame from laser sintering

MYLON is built layer by layer: a laser fuses fine polyamide powder into a solid shape. The result is a frame without joints, lighter than acetate. Finished by hand in Berlin.

„A bold frame that wears like a much smaller one. The narrow 16 mm bridge keeps it close to the eyes.“

Mykita

A Berlin house founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans and Moritz Krüger. The name comes from its first premises - a former day nursery, which Germans call a "Kita" for short. The frames are still hand-assembled in Berlin, in their own workshop, because when they started nobody would manufacture what they had drawn. The house signature is a patented screwless spiral hinge, in stainless steel half a millimetre thick.
