Mid-century practicality

OAMC is the fashion house led by Luke Meier. With MYKITA it draws on the practical eyewear of the mid-twentieth century and reworks its functional details into contemporary design. The hybrid frames combine lightweight steel with MYKITA MYLON. Handmade at MYKITA HAUS in Berlin.

„The MYLON side shields block light from the side while the frame stays light. Flat lenses keep the image undistorted at the edge.“

Mykita

A Berlin house founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans and Moritz Krüger. The name comes from its first premises - a former day nursery, which Germans call a "Kita" for short. The frames are still hand-assembled in Berlin, in their own workshop, because when they started nobody would manufacture what they had drawn. The house signature is a patented screwless spiral hinge, in stainless steel half a millimetre thick.
